An Author Has Cataract Surgery: Patient Experience with PanOptix Trifocal Lens
In September of 2019, we announced the Panoptix Trifocal Lens coming to South Florida after finally being FDA Approved! Dr. Buznego implanted the first trifocal lens at our center and one of the very first PanOptix trifocal lenses in South Florida.
Today, we caught up with a Cuban-American author and a beloved patient of Dr. Carlos Buznego’s, Mr. Moises Asis.
Mr. Asis had cataract surgery on 1/8/2020 and 1/29/2020, and he selected to have the new, very exciting Panoptix Trifocal Lens put in.
We interviewed Mr. Asis seeing as to how he would be such a great patient experience as his eyes are so vital to one of his lines of work, writing.
He shared that he was excited to move forward with his surgery and listened to Dr. Buznego’s suggestions. He was a tiny bit afraid going into eye surgery, as most patients are, but told us it was a very brief operation, where he suffered no issues.
He had a little stinging the day of surgery but “nothing more than if you were to get ocean water in your eye. I could not feel anything after day one! The day of surgery I was already able to read, watch TV, work on my computer. When I went in for my post op the day after surgery I was already 20/20! I could see the smallest letters on the chart that I never dreamed I could see, my vision was perfect!”
Moises shared that this surgery has greatly helped his life because he was working on his parapsychology book prior to the surgery and had so many issues trying to write. “I had to get very close to the screen of the computer while typing. I also had trouble with the design of the cover of the book as I was being told that there were different shades of brown and tones of blue which I actually could not see; they all looked black to me!”
This very common issue of the lack of color differentiation, was all due to the cataracts. We see it in most of our cataract patients. In fact, one of the number one things we hear after cataract surgery is how bright and distinct all the colors are! Once I had the surgery I could distinguish the color tones.
We are so happy to have a happy patient and most of all one who was able to take advantage of the latest cutting edge technology out there in IOLs, the PanOptix Trifocal!
Congratulations to Mr. Asis on finishing and publishing his book. If you are interested in his books, of which there are fifteen, in so many interesting categories including alternative medicine, apitherapy and parasychology, please visit his website where you can read more about him at www.moisesasis.com.
